Hollis Pipeline Update

Hollis Selectmen were put on notice in Spring that Kinder Morgan, a subsidiary of Tennessee Gas, is planning to run a lateral gas line from Northern Massachusetts into the southwest corner of Hollis traversing the entire town, to end up at the northeast border with Merrimack. Since May, local individuals and groups like the Hollis Conservation Commission, the Land Protection Study Committee and the Trustees of Beaver Brook, along with our Town Selectmen, have been seeking input and advice from legal counsel and outside sources, to determine a reasonable course of action to protect our lovely town.

In working with some of the early citizen-activists who were attempting to understand what other towns have done to prevail against the impact of pipeline plans, the Board of the Hollis Dems offered our June meeting time at the Lawrence Barn to help bring these disparate efforts together, to discuss where things stand and how the community can help.

Pipeline Meeting: Tuesday, June 24th - 7 - 9 PM at the Lawrence Barn
